About us
We build the parts nobody sees
Data platforms, cloud architecture and AI systems are infrastructure. When they are built well nobody talks about them: things simply work, decisions arrive faster, and the business stops fighting its own tools. That groundwork is our craft.
The name
Why we are called Shokunin
In Japanese culture, a shokunin is more than an artisan. It is someone who devotes their working life to perfecting a single craft, and who stays responsible for what they make long after it leaves their hands. We took the name because it sets a standard we can be held to: we do not ship a data pipeline we would not want to maintain ourselves, and we do not hand over an architecture we cannot explain line by line.
What we do
Four crafts, one workshop
Four disciplines that overlap more often than not. Most engagements begin in one and end up touching two or three, because infrastructure, data and the decisions they feed are the same problem seen from different sides.
AI and advanced automation
We implement AI that does not stay in the pilot stage: systems that solve a real business problem and hold up once the volume grows.
Cloud data architecture
We design, migrate and optimise data ecosystems so they are scalable, secure and cost-efficient, and so infrastructure stops setting the ceiling on growth.
Analytics, BI and data governance
We turn terabytes of information into executive dashboards, so management decides on measured reality rather than intuition.
How we work
Four phases, no surprises
Every engagement runs the same way. At any point you know which phase we are in, what comes out of it, and what it costs.
Listen
Thirty minutes to understand the problem before anyone proposes a solution. No pitch and no commitment.
Blueprint
A diagnosis and a plan: what to build, in what order and with what. It is yours to act on, with us or without us.
Craft
Construction in short deliveries, with the work visible as it goes. No long silence ending in a surprise.
Sharpen
Into production, measured and improved. We do not deliver and disappear.
Principles
What we hold ourselves to
Four rules that settle the arguments internally, and that you can hold us to.
No templates
Every architecture is designed for the problem in front of us. If a known pattern fits we use it because it fits, not because it is what we did last time.
Precision over speed
Work done badly gets paid for twice. We would rather agree a longer first delivery than hand over something that has to be rebuilt.
Data before opinions
Decisions get made on measured reality. When we do not have the measurement yet, we say so instead of guessing confidently.
Pride in the work
We put our name on what we deliver, and we are still there when it reaches production.
Getting started
Every project starts with a conversation
No forms to fill in and no discovery workshop to pay for. Thirty minutes, and you leave with an honest answer either way.
Book thirty minutes
Pick a slot that suits you. We use the time to understand the problem, not to sell.
Get a first plan
Within one business day you have our read on it: what we would build, in what order, and whether we are the right people for it.
Careers
Join the craft
We look for data engineers, cloud architects and AI specialists who care how a thing is built, not only that it works. We do not offer jobs; we offer a place to sharpen your craft on work that reaches production. Send your profile to info@shokunintechnologies.io.
Tell us what you are trying to build
If it matches our craft, you will hear back within one business day.
